Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mason Terell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Nalls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mason Terell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Nalls! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Terell looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Terell shoots in but no luck this time. Nalls slips a straight right by Terell. Terell throws the left hand but Nalls avoids the punch easily. Nalls jabbing away but nothing is landing. Nalls misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nalls scores with a decent looking hook. Terell looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Terell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Terell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nalls takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Terell just misses with a punch to the body.
Terell lands with an overhand left. Terell keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nalls.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nalls slips under a jab. Horrible takedown by Terell or perhaps it was just good defense by Nalls which made him look bad. Nalls fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nalls slips a straight right by Terell. Nalls throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Terell sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jim Nalls is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Terell looks to land a left hand but Nalls moved out of range nicely. Nalls throws out a loose jab but Terell uses good head movement to avoid it. Terell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nice uppercut lands for Terell. That snapped Nalls's head back.
Terell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nalls. Terell works Nalls's body with a nice hook. Terell digs a good hook to Nalls's body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Terell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Terell slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Terell moves into full mount! Terell controlling the position easily from mount. Terell throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nalls because Terell loaded up on that one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nalls has given up his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Terell has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Nalls has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Nalls really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Terell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Terell throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Terell is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Nalls won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Terell off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mason Terell!
