The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le Fondre is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in gabo's half guard.
gabo is trying is best to control the position here.
Le Fondre is looking to take a break and control but gabo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
gabo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
gabo wants to improve his position but Le Fondre is controlling well.
Le Fondre tries to stand but can't do so whilst gabo controls his leg.
Le Fondre is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so gabo is just riding it out for now. Le Fondre eventually gives up the hold.

and gabo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
gabo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Le Fondre makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Le Fondre moves into the clinch.

okta gabo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Le Fondre closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Le Fondre lands in his opponent's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
gabo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Le Fondre walks away with a smile on his face. gabo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
gabo closes the distance looking to clinch
and Le Fondre counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Le Fondre.
Le Fondre wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
gabo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Le Fondre pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Le Fondre holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Le Fondre has hold of one of gabo's legs. gabo is fighting the takedown attempt but Le Fondre gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Le Fondre wants to stand and escape but instead gabo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
gabo passes Le Fondre's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Le Fondre is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Le Fondre misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
gabo pushes Le Fondre up against the cage in a clinch.
gabo is looking to control Le Fondre's arms but Le Fondre gets an underhook and turns him. Now gabo has his back to the cage.
gabo jumps guard and drags Le Fondre to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Le Fondre is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
gabo has Le Fondre pulled in close to control his posture.
And that's the end of the fight!
