Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Butch Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shelton Naysmith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Butch Reed has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Butch Reed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Shelton Naysmith! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reed walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Reed gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Reed throws a right and a left that Naysmith avoids nicely. Excellent takedown into side control there by Reed. Reed wants to lay and pray for a moment but Naysmith keeps working. Reed misses with the ground and pound. The ground and pound from Reed seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Reed is looking to take a break and control but Naysmith is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Naysmith is pushing Reed's head away, looking to escape. Reed manages to hold on to the position though. Reed working the ground and pound but Naysmith is defending the strikes. Reed staying calm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Naysmith wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Reed has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Reed working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Naysmith regains half guard, as Reed was trying to land strikes. Naysmith is looking to improve his position.
Reed controlling the pace. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Naysmith trying to control but Reed postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Reed slips a nice elbow through Naysmith's hands, connecting with Naysmith's forehead. Naysmith tries to get to full guard but Reed has control of the leg. Naysmith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Reed is working away from the top position though. Naysmith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Naysmith manages to get to full guard.
Reed with a flurry of punches that miss. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but Naysmith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reed stands and steps away. Naysmith gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Reed checks a leg kick. Reed looks for a takedown but Naysmith sprawls well. Reed is breathing heavily. Nice takedown defense from Naysmith. No joy for Reed on that attempt. Naysmith tries to land a front kick but Reed steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Reed tries to close the distance and clinch up but Naysmith swats him away and circles back towards the center. Naysmith thows a left - swing and a miss! Naysmith tests Reed's chin there with a solid looking shot. Naysmith gets a clinch. Nice body punch from Naysmith. Naysmith misses with a hook from the clinch. Naysmith gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Naysmith not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Naysmith working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Reed's thigh. Reed counters though and makes it back to full guard. Reed striking from the bottom here. Naysmith pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reed is keeping the position for now. Naysmith tries to stand but Reed is controlling from the bottom. Reed is controlling Naysmith's posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shelton Naysmith dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Reed. Reed staying out of range there. A decent looking cross lands there for Naysmith. Reed fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Naysmith avoids it really well and circles away. Reed lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Reed shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Naysmith but Naysmith pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Butch Reed. That's going to take a lot out of him. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Naysmith is defended easily by Reed. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Naysmith scores with the left hand. Reed knows he should have avoided that one. Naysmith just misses with a punch to the body.
Naysmith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Reed avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Naysmith misses with a hook. Reed ducked under it nicely. Reed tries to bum rush Naysmith with a series of wild strikes but Naysmith uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A thudding body kick lands there by Naysmith!
Naysmith getting the better of the striking in that exchange. A jab lands there for Naysmith. A telegraphed right hand from Naysmith misses the target. Reed moves out of range of the strikes. Reed takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Naysmith scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Reed is looking to clinch. Naysmith closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Reed did well to prevent Naysmith getting side control. Reed wants to control but Naysmith is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Naysmith wants to take a breather but Reed is having none of it. Reed is trying to maintain the position but Naysmith is very close to passing his half guard. Reed tries to get to full guard but Naysmith has control of the leg. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Naysmith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reed does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Reed moves out of range of the strikes. Reed slips a jab from Naysmith.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reed tries for a takedown but Naysmith circles away easily and Naysmith counters with a left to the body. Naysmith jabbing away but nothing is landing. Reed feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but Naysmith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Reed decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Naysmith ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Naysmith stuffs the takedown attempt from Reed. Reed gets slowly back to his feet. Naysmith slips a jab and a cross from Reed.
Naysmith lands a really nice looking cross but Reed seems unphased.
Naysmith tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Reed was well out of range. Poor timing from Naysmith.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reed tries for a takedown but Naysmith circles away easily letting Naysmith counter with a right hand. Reed connects with a right hand. Naysmith shakes it off. Naysmith getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Reed closes the distance and pushes Naysmith back into the cage. Naysmith tries to pull guard but Reed holds him up against the cage and eventually Naysmith drops back down to his feet.
Reed turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Reed manages to end up in side control. Reed tries to advance to mount but Naysmith denies him. Reed scoring with punches and elbows. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Reed decides to take the fight back to the feet. Reed throws a series of punches but Naysmith moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shelton Naysmith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Naysmith takes a swing at Reed's ribcage but misses. Naysmith shoots in for a double leg but Reed sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Reed throws a series of punches but Naysmith moves out of range. No joy there for Reed, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Butch Reed is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Naysmith pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Naysmith throws out a loose jab but Reed uses good head movement to avoid it. Naysmith lands a lovely overhand right. Naysmith leaves Reed with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Reed drives through with a takedown into guard. Naysmith keeping moving, preventing Reed from controlling successfully. Butch Reed overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reed wants to pass the guard but Naysmith is keeping the position. Reed stops Naysmith from standing up. Reed slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Reed throws and elbow that misses. Naysmith uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reed's guard. Nice move by Naysmith! Reed trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Naysmith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Reed has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Naysmith has managed to get both his arms back between Reed's legs - danger averted. Reed tries to land a sweep but no joy. Naysmith throwing strikes from guard but Reed blocks nicely. Naysmith lands a couple of digs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Naysmith is pushing down on Reed's leg trying to pass to half guard. Reed is fighting to maintain full guard but Naysmith has managed to sneak the leg through. Naysmith is nestled in close to Reed, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Naysmith tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Naysmith missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Reed tries to roll over but Naysmith keeps him under control. Naysmith sitting and controlling from the half guard. Naysmith is keen to just control but Reed is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Naysmith trying to control from Reed's half guard. Reed has other ideas though and has regained full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Naysmith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Naysmith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Naysmith throws and elbow that misses. Reed uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Naysmith's guard. Nice move by Reed! Naysmith keeping moving, preventing Reed from controlling successfully. Butch Reed has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Shelton Naysmith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reed loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Butch Reed. I think Naysmith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
