Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Robert Gator! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roy Royler! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Royler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gator moves away. Royler lands a jab-cross combination. A telegraphed right hand from Royler misses the target. Gator takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. A telegraphed right hand from Royler misses the target. Some wild striking there from Gator.
Royler takes a swing at Gator's ribcage but misses. Royler fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Gator connects with a good right hand that stumbles Royler. Royler circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Royler!
Gator misses with a double jab.
Gator ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Royler moves away. Decent striking displayed by Royler there. Royler throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gator stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Gator missing with a left hand there. Royler was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Royler on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Royler takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Royler lands an overhand right.
That's one minute gone in the round. Royler throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Royler swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gator takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Royler connects with a body shot. Gator gets tackled into the cage by Royler. Royler maintains the clinch. Royler lands a hook that snaps the head of Gator backwards. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Royler presses Gator against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Gator is breathing heavily. A short right from Royler. Gator is trying to break free. A nice left hand lands by Royler.
Royler digs a right hand into Gator's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Gator's gas tank. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! An uppercut to the body lands inside from Royler. Royler stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Royler lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Gator backwards.
Gator is rocked! A left hand lands to the body for Royler.
Oh Gator is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Royler lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Royler creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Gator's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Gator drops to his knees and Royler pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roy Royler!
