Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chucky Laing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denny Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chucky Laing! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Denny Sullivan! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Laing throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Laing shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sullivan as he jumps to the side. Sullivan throws a right hand that Laing ducks under and follows up with a left that Laing also avoids with ease. Sullivan throws a leg kick but Laing sees it coming and checks it nicely. Laing shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sullivan manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Sullivan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Laing. Sullivan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Laing makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Laing trying to control the position from guard on top but Sullivan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Laing trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Laing stops Sullivan from standing up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sullivan can do anything to dispel that myth. Sullivan can't keep his opponent in guard - Laing advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Laing is thwarting Sullivan's attempts to control the position. Sullivan looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Laing tries to stand but can't do so whilst Sullivan controls his leg. Sullivan trying to control here.
Sullivan wants to get back to full guard. Sullivan wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Laing wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sullivan keeps working. Sullivan gets back to full guard.
Sullivan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Laing stands up from guard. Let's bang! Sullivan fails to land the takedown. Laing gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Sullivan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Sullivan looks gassed! Sullivan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Laing is proving hard to escape from.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laing looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Laing trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Laing is looking to stand up but Sullivan isn't so interested in that idea. Sullivan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Laing is trying to keep Sullivan in close.
Sullivan won't allow Laing to sweep him here. Sullivan controlling from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sullivan throwing strikes from guard but Laing blocks nicely.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sullivan looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Laing is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sullivan dives into side control.
Sullivan throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Sullivan moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Laing is not content to let Sullivan control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Denny Sullivan dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Sullivan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Laing is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sullivan's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Sullivan stops Laing from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are battling for position here. Laing manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Sullivan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Laing. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Laing looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sullivan is one step ahead there. Laing is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sullivan is aware though and is defending well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sullivan stays in close to Laing's body and controls the position. Sullivan trying to control but Laing is working from the bottom. Sullivan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Laing swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sullivan trying to control but Laing is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Denny Sullivan. Sullivan shoots in but no luck this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Laing tries to clinch and Sullivan counters with a shoot takedown. Laing fights it but they end up in guard. Sullivan wants to pass the guard but Laing is keeping the position. Sullivan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Sullivan wants to pass the guard but Laing is keeping the position. Sullivan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sullivan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Laing escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sullivan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Laing had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sullivan defends it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sullivan looking to pass the guard. Laing wants to sweep here but Sullivan controlling him for the moment. Sullivan tries to free his leg and advance position but Laing is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Sullivan wants to control from the top but Laing keeps moving. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Laing wants to sweep but no luck. Laing not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sullivan moves into range and clinches up with Laing. Sullivan is trying to drag Laing to the mat but Laing just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Sullivan jumps into guard, dragging Laing to the mat.
Laing throwing strikes but missing. Laing tries to free his leg and advance position but Sullivan is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Denny Sullivan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Laing tries to keep at a distance but Sullivan has taken the fight into the clinch. Sullivan jumps guard but Laing stands there with Sullivan around his waist. Sullivan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sullivan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Sullivan looking to control but Laing is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Sullivan avoids the attempt from Laing to control. Laing defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Sullivan. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sullivan lands a big shot there that rocks Laing but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Laing is desperately trying to improve his position but Sullivan has a good base and remains in mount. Sullivan scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Laing is looking to improve his position but Sullivan isn't that keen on the idea. Sullivan with a couple of short strikes. Laing is working to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Laing is looking to get to half guard. Sullivan lands a big elbow. Sullivan breaks from Laing's wrist control and lands an elbow. Laing tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sullivan controlling the position easily from mount. Sullivan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Laing can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Sullivan with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Laing takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Laing is looking to improve his position but Sullivan isn't that keen on the idea.
And that's the end of the fight! Denny Sullivan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Sullivan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
