Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikola Zrinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Schnitzer Schnitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Nikola Zrinski has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikola Zrinski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Schnitzer Schnitz!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schnitz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Schnitz scoring with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Schnitz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Schnitz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Zrinski is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Schnitzer Schnitz.

Zrinski doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Schnitz counters with a shoot takedown. Zrinski fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schnitz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Zrinski wants to stand up but Schnitz is controlling him.
Schnitz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zrinski is keeping the position for now.
Schnitz stays in close to Zrinski's body and controls the position.
Schnitz works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Schnitz is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Schnitz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Zrinski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schnitz on the ground.
Schnitz not doing much here.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Schnitzer Schnitz hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Schnitz fails with the takedown.

Schnitz gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Zrinski manages to break the clinch.
Zrinski misses with a head kick.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Schnitz avoids the head kick by Zrinski.
Zrinski tries a head kick but it misses.
Zrinski misses with a head kick.
Zrinski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zrinski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Schnitz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Schnitz.
Zrinski is breathing heavily.
Schnitz advances to half guard.
Schnitz controlling the action here.
Schnitz lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Schnitz passes to full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Schnitzer Schnitz dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Zrinski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Schnitz feints and as Zrinski raises his hands in defense, Schnitz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Schnitz pushes down on Zrinski's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Zrinski is defending against the submission attempts here by Schnitz.
Zrinski is looking to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Schnitz performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Schnitz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Schnitz with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Schnitz passes the guard and advances to mount!

Schnitz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zrinski can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Schnitz is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Zrinski is surviving well by controlling Schnitz's body position as best he can.
Schnitzer Schnitz has got the better of the ground game so far.

Schnitz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Zrinski is in a horrible position here. Schnitz smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Schnitz looking to isolate an arm here. Zrinski doesn't see it coming and as Schnitz extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Schnitz!
