Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Off! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Seth Rodd! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodd closes the distance and pushes Off back into the cage. Rodd is trying to break the clinch but Off is controlling him. Rodd breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Off closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rodd to the mat! Rodd manages to get full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Off drops back looking for a leg! Rodd is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rodd manages to kick Off off! Off jumps back into Rodd's guard. Rodd is looking for a triangle but Off pushes his legs off easily.
Off missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rodd can't keep his opponent in guard - Off advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Off is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rodd has managed to free his arm - good work. Off wants to work for an arm triangle but Rodd is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Off looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Off scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Off working over Rodd with some ground and pound. Rodd looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Off is trying to work for a kimura but Rodd is defending well.
Off thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rodd's head. Nice strikes from Off there. Rodd is looking for a sweep. Off is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Off is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Off prevents Rodd from standing back up.
