Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carl Sagan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Dance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sagan's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Conquest of Paradise. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Sagan! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bill Dance! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sagan blocks a jab. Dance throws a hook but Sagan blocks it. Sagan throws a series of punches but Dance avoids them all with ease. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A combination from Sagan does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dance keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sagan looks to score with a jab to the body but Dance is just out of range. Sagan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dance misses with a hook. Sagan ducked under it nicely. Dance keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dance closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sagan quickly recovers to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dance trying to mount his opponent but Sagan defends it. Sagan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dance. Dance slips a nice elbow through Sagan's hands, connecting with Sagan's forehead. Dance thows a huge punch but Sagan dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dance throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Dance thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Sagan keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Dance misses with a head shot. Sagan uses the momentum to regain guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dance accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dance in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Dance has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dance missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bill Dance dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dance shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sagan sprawls well. Sagan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dance gets slowly back to his feet. Sagan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Sagan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dance misses with a jab to the body
and Sagan counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Dance swings and misses with a shot to the body and Dance takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sagan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dance moves out of range as Sagan strikes. Dance walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Dance in side control, throwing shots but Sagan defends. Dance working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Dance tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Sagan is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Sagan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dance on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dance wants to control but Sagan is keeping him busy. Dance in side control, throwing shots but Sagan defends. Sagan takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dance in side control, throwing shots but Sagan defends. Sagan is not content to let Dance control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dance creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sagan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Dance misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Dance sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sagan is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Dance is keen to just control but Sagan is a slippery customer. Dance is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Sagan is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dance scores with a couple of nice shots. Dance working over Sagan with some ground and pound. Sagan looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Sagan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sagan tries to get out of the position. Dance drops an elbow to the side of Sagan's head. Dance not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Dance throwing shots but Sagan is blocking nicely. Dance thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sagan's head. Dance looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sagan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Carl Sagan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dance scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Dance throwing shots but Sagan is blocking nicely. Dance looks to land a strike but Sagan avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Dance tries to free his leg and advance position but Sagan is retaining full guard. Sagan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dance trying to control but Sagan is working from the bottom. Sagan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dance. Dance connects with a couple of short punches. Dance distracts Sagan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Dance is looking to work some ground and pound but Sagan has wrist control. Dance with a flurry of punches that miss. Sagan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dance.
And that's the end of the fight! Bill Dance comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Dance has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
