Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Godwin Ira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick McSlick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McSlick has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. On his way into the cage it seems that Godwin Ira has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Godwin Ira seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Godwin Ira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick McSlick! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ira fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McSlick looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. McSlick looks gassed! Ira will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. McSlick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ira pushes McSlick up against the cage in a clinch. McSlick prevents a takedown attempt there.
McSlick drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ira has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McSlick uses from the top position. Ira has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Ira will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ira lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McSlick! McSlick is in a horrible position here. Ira smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ira takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. McSlick should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Ira is in the full mount, landing strikes. Ira controlling the position easily from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ira throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ira is working for a guillotine from mount but McSlick frees his head quite easily.
Ira tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Ira looking to control but McSlick is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Ira working McSlick over with strikes here. Ira is standing up, even though he is in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ira cracks a nice hook into McSlick's ribs. Nice sprawl there from McSlick as Ira shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Godwin Ira. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ira takes the fight into the clinch. Ira has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McSlick is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. McSlick trying to land knees to the body.
Ira jumps guard.
Ira controlling McSlick's posture. Ira is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McSlick is trying to maintain the position but Ira is very close to passing his half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ira wants to control but McSlick is keeping him busy. Ira decides to stand up. Ira has a takedown stuffed. Ira shoots in but no luck this time. Ira throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ira gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Godwin Ira dominated that round. The cut man is working on Nick McSlick's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
McSlick has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ira really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ira has had enough of the clinch but McSlick keeps him there for the moment. Ira jumps guard but McSlick stands there with Ira around his waist. Ira gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ira has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McSlick uses from the top position. McSlick pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ira is keeping the position for now. McSlick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ira manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McSlick manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ira stands up from McSlick's guard - Ira perhaps looking for a knockout. Ira with a lazy takedown attempt and McSlick counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McSlick. McSlick trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ira is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ira keeping moving, preventing McSlick from controlling successfully. McSlick preventing the sweep. Ira keeping moving, preventing McSlick from controlling successfully. Ira looking to hit a scissor sweep but McSlick is one step ahead there. McSlick wants to control from the top but Ira keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Nick McSlick hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A looping hook to the body misses from Ira. McSlick does a little dance to reset his feet. Ira shoots for a takedown but McSlick saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Godwin Ira. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ira tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McSlick swivels and escapes. McSlick shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McSlick showed some decent athleticism there. McSlick seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ira does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ira gets back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nick McSlick. Ira moves in looking to clinch but McSlick pushes him off. Ira doesn't succeed with the takedown and McSlick counters with a thumping low kick. Ira fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McSlick avoids it really well and circles away. Ira fails with the takedown and McSlick counters with a nice double leg into half guard. McSlick looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. McSlick is trying to control the action in half guard but Ira is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Nick McSlick has got the better of the ground game so far. Ira trying to control but McSlick postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick McSlick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Nick McSlick's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
McSlick drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ira manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Ira wants to lay and pray for a moment but McSlick keeps working. Ira trying to control the pace. Ira wants to get back to his feet.
Ira passes the guard and advances to mount! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ira working for a submission but McSlick is keeping him at bay. Ira trying to control but McSlick is having none of it. Ira jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but McSlick manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. McSlick can't do much from the bottom here. McSlick is looking to reverse the position. McSlick is not content to let Ira control the position. McSlick sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ira is looking for a kimura here.
McSlick is holding on to half guard well. Ira prevents McSlick from improving his position. McSlick is looking to get back to full guard here but Ira has managed to pass to side control instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ira avoids the attempt from McSlick to control. Ira lands a heavy elbow. McSlick is wriggling around trying to escape.
Ira looking to control but McSlick is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McSlick tries to reverse the position but Ira maintains control.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Godwin Ira. I think Ira has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
