The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saraiva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Saraiva is putting a hurting on Superlek here, landing some big shots from side control.

It looks like Mannoi Superlek has been cut.

Saraiva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Saraiva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Saraiva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Saraiva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Saraiva is looking to take a break and control but Superlek is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Saraiva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Superlek knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Superlek is not content to let Saraiva control the position.

Mannoi Superlek's cut is getting worse.

Saraiva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Superlek, who protects the arm well.

Saraiva has hold of Superlek's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Superlek tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Saraiva cranks the arm and Superlek screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Superlek, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
