Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bret Hatton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerard The Ghost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hatton comes into the arena with Bret Hart theme blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bret Hatton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gerard The Ghost! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hatton shoots for a double leg takedown but The Ghost sprawls well. He's pushed Hatton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A chopping leg kick lands by Hatton. The Ghost gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hatton trying to control but The Ghost is working from the bottom. The Ghost is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The Ghost keeping moving, preventing Hatton from controlling successfully. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. The Ghost wants to stand but Hatton is controlling the position.
We're going to have a standup here because Bret Hatton wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. The Ghost tries to clinch but Hatton is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hatton fails to land with a series of punches.
The Ghost wants to clinch up but Hatton keeps it at a distance. The Ghost fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hatton, pushing him back against the cage. Hatton changes levels and goes for a takedown here. The Ghost fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The Ghost swings for the body but Hatton moves out of range.
Hatton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The Ghost tries to avoid it but Hatton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The Ghost to the ground. The Ghost escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bret Hatton. That's going to take a lot out of him. The Ghost wants to clinch. The Ghost doesn't manage to clinch there - Hatton circles away.
Hatton avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hatton avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hatton fails with the takedown. The Ghost throws a body punch but Hatton moves out of range. The Ghost misses the shot to the body. A punch combination from Hatton misses. The Ghost tries to clinch up but Hatton circles away and keeps his distance. The Ghost buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Hatton shoots in but The Ghost avoids the takedown attempt easily. The Ghost is looking to clinch. Nice sprawl there from The Ghost as Hatton shoots in.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Ghost is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The Ghost leaves Hatton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The Ghost tries a low kick but Hatton avoids it. Hatton circles away from the clinch attempt.
The Ghost jabbing away but nothing is landing. The Ghost tries to close the distance and clinch but Hatton swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The Ghost is looking to clinch but Hatton is avoiding it.

Hatton shoots in looking for a takedown but The Ghost manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hatton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. The Ghost throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hatton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The Ghost is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hatton is controlling him. Hatton with a flurry of punches that miss. The Ghost wants to stand up but Hatton is controlling him. The Ghost has his feet on Hatton's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. The Ghost lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hatton's sensitive parts. Hatton avoids the body shot from The Ghost.
The Ghost tries to clinch up but Hatton circles away and keeps his distance. The Ghost drives through and clinches with Hatton against the cage.
The Ghost prevents the takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Gerard The Ghost will probably get the nod. That's time! Hatton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hatton scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Hatton has an Americana. The Ghost didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hatton is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hatton hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
