Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sweeney Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zues Egan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Todd kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Never Forget, Never Forgive... Zues Egan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Todd has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Egan.
That kick from Egan tenderised Todd's leg. Todd is trying to keep his angry face on.
Todd lands a jab to the nose.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Egan.
Nice body punch from Todd.
Egan moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Egan dives in and grabs Todd's left leg, looking for a takedown. Todd pushes down on Egan's head and hops out.
Egan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Todd has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Egan throws a wild body kick that Todd sees coming a mile off.
Egan thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Todd if he has to take too many more of those.

Egan is looking to control Todd's arms but Todd gets an underhook and turns him. Now Egan has his back to the cage.
Todd presses Egan against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Todd tries to stall but Egan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Todd breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Todd shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Egan's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Egan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Todd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Todd has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That was a close round but I would say that Sweeney Todd will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Egan counters with a low kick, right behind Todd 's knee.
Egan lets loose with a powerful body kick. Todd will feel that in the morning.
Todd connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Egan momentarily.
Egan throws a nice looking combination but Todd bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Todd shoots in looking for a takedown but Egan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Todd's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Egan throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Egan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Todd gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Egan counters with an inside leg kick.
Egan delivers a nice body kick.
Egan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Egan holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

A lull in the action here as Todd stalls from top position.

Todd lands a decent elbow from side control.
Todd happy to just control the position for now.
Todd wants to control but Egan is keeping him busy.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Todd in side control, throwing shots but Egan defends.
The strikes coming from Todd are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Egan is not content to let Todd control the position.
Egan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight!
