Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vlad The Last! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bam Bam! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bam throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. The Last was covering up waiting for the punch and Bam finishes the takedown easily into guard. The Last is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bam is controlling him. The Last looking for a sweep. Not yet The Last, not yet. Bam trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bam working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of The Last's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bam stays in close to The Last's body and controls the position. The Last preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The Last on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if The Last tries to get out of the position. The Last not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bam is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bam accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bam slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bam throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. That's one minute gone in the round. Bam connects with a couple of short punches. Bam really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Last. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bam wants to control from the top but The Last keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bam accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bam lands a couple of digs. Bam chips away with some ground and pound. The Last is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bam makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Bam throws and elbow that misses. The Last uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bam's guard. Nice move by The Last! The Last pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bam is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bam is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Bam not landing any meaningful shots this time. Bam looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bam lands a nice short elbow. Bam working The Last over with strikes. Bam working The Last over with strikes. The Last is breathing heavily. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bam connects with a nice short shot to The Last's temple. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bam is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Ground and pound from Bam.
The Last is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bam is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, The Last is hurt! He's hurt bad - Bam fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save The Last from any more punishment! Congratulations to Bam! Great finish!
