Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy London! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Flemming! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! London looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Flemming is fending him off so far but London persists. Nope, Flemming circles away and we're back to standing. London tries for a takedown but Flemming sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. London decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Flemming wants to get back to full guard. London trying to control the action but Flemming is working from the bottom. Flemming wants to get back to full guard. London is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Flemming landing a few short strikes. London is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Flemming defends it well. Flemming is trying to get back to full guard. Flemming tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Flemming closes this distance looking for a takedown but London circles away. London with a poor takedown and Flemming counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy London. That's going to take a lot out of him. Flemming wants to control but London is keeping him busy. Flemming lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Flemming drops an elbow to the side of London's head.

Flemming with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. London is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. London is breathing heavily. Flemming lands a couple of decent looking shots. Flemming avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Flemming is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Flemming has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. London wants to sweep but no luck. London can't keep his opponent in guard - Flemming advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Flemming lands strikes from half guard. Flemming lands with a punch from half guard. Flemming moves into full mount! London won't be happy about that! Flemming working away from the top, dropping strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. London is trying desperately to improve position. London regains half guard. London works his way to full guard. Good work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now London is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Flemming wants to sweep but no luck. London advances position into side control! London cracks Flemming with an elbow. That is naaassty. The strikes coming from London are missing the target in this wave of attacks. London stands up and we're back to a striking position. London shoots and misses and Flemming decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in London's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Flemming trying to control but London is working from the bottom. Flemming throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as London works some decent striking defense from the bottom. London keeping full guard, as Flemming tries to pass. London escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Flemming gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. London keeping moving, preventing Flemming from controlling successfully. Flemming in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Flemming throwing strikes but missing. London is trying to control the position but Flemming postures up. London is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Flemming with a flurry of punches that miss. Flemming trying to control but London is working from the bottom. London throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Flemming postures up and lands a big shot to London's brow. Flemming with a nice head shot there. Flemming connects with a couple of short punches. Flemming stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. London swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Flemming working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. London is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

London is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Flemming stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. London swivels though and keeps the full guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! London manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Flemming shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and London counters with a shoot takedown. Flemming fights it but they end up in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! London preventing the sweep. Flemming controls London momentarily but London frees himself. London wants to pass the guard but Flemming is keeping the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Flemming is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. London regains full guard. Nicely done. London looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jimmy London will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
London fails with the takedown and Flemming counters with a single leg into guard. London didn't expect that. London working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flemming doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Flemming manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Flemming scoring with some ground and pound. Flemming pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. London is keeping the position for now. London is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. London trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Flemming trying to control the position from guard on top but London is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Flemming with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Flemming stands up over London, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Flemming misses with a takedown and London counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. London prevents Flemming from improving his position. London works his foot free and advances to mount. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Flemming is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. London locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Flemming is forced to tap!
