Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nav Dhanju (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Mateo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mateo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by impuls- dla was. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nav Dhanju! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Mateo! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Mateo misses. Dhanju shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mateo but Mateo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dhanju moves in looking to clinch but Mateo pushes him off. Mateo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mateo trying to control from half guard but Dhanju is working away. Mateo keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Mateo seems to be looking for submissions.
Mateo is trying to work for a kimura but Dhanju is defending well.
Mateo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mateo is keen to just control but Dhanju is a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mateo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mateo seems to be looking for submissions.
Mateo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dhanju is just riding it out for now. Mateo eventually gives up the hold. Mateo wants to work for an arm triangle but Dhanju is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mateo passes the guard and advances to mount! Mateo jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dhanju manages to avoid the submission attempt. Dhanju takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Dhanju on the wrong end of some ground and pound. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Mateo tries for a kimura but Dhanju is defending well. Dhanju is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mateo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Mateo is working Dhanju over with some ground and pound from side control. Mateo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mateo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mateo creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dhanju sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Mateo cracks Dhanju with a big elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mateo is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Dhanju looks calm but he's in trouble here. Mateo gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Dhanju is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Mateo lets go of the hold and Dhanju can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Don Mateo!
