The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cage throws a series of punches but Sparmaqua avoids them all with ease.
Cage looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

It looks like Mandango Sparmaqua has been cut.
Cage doesn't manage to clinch there - Sparmaqua circles away.
Cage shoots in for a double leg but Sparmaqua sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A combination from Cage does no damage.
Cage blocks the body kick.
Cage throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sparmaqua's waist but Sparmaqua gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cage off to one side.
Mandango Sparmaqua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xander Cage.
Cage will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Sparmaqua closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cage to the mat! Cage manages to get full guard.

Sparmaqua is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cage is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cage has escaped and now he's on top!

Cage avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sparmaqua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cage is posturing up here but Sparmaqua has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Cage tries to roll out but it's too tight and Cage has to tap! Slick submission there by Sparmaqua!
