The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garmin looks for a takedown but Dunston sprawls well.
Garmin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dunston is trying to defend but Garmin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Garmin wants to free his trapped foot but Dunston is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Garmin connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dunston some visible discomfort.
Dunston tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Garmin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Check out the look on Garmin's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Garmin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dunston looks a forlorn figure.

Garmin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Dunston has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Garmin has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dunston's face.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
