Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harry Villegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacques Gillette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Villegas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to War is my destiny. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harry Villegas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacques Gillette! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Villegas checks a low kick from Gillette. Gillette misses with an uppercut. Gillette moves away from the strike by Villegas. Villegas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gillette tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Villegas paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gillette tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Villegas is able to avoid easily. Gillette swings for the body but Villegas moves out of range.
A slow jab from Gillette misses its intended target. Gillette misses with a low kick.
Nice shot by Villegas. Gillette looks to land a left hand but Villegas moved out of range nicely. Villegas blocks a low kick nicely. Villegas takes a swing at Gillette's ribcage but misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Villegas slips under a jab from Gillette. Gillette throws out a loose jab but Villegas uses good head movement to avoid it. Gillette throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gillette throws a wild body kick that Villegas sees coming a mile off. Gillette looks to land a right hand but Villegas moved out of range. Villegas takes a swing at Gillette's ribcage but misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gillette fails to land with a series of punches.
Gillette darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Jacques Gillette is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gillette throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Gillette misses the jab. Villegas avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Villegas shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gillette napping and manages to drive through into side control! Villegas wants to control but Gillette is keeping him busy. Villegas throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Villegas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gillette is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The ground and pound from Villegas seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Villegas trying to control the position but Gillette is working away. Gillette takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Villegas tries to move to mount but Gillette blocks the move with his legs. Villegas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Villegas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gillette is not content to let Villegas control the position. Villegas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gillette is trying to control Villegas's posture but Villegas avoids it. Villegas wants to control but Gillette is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gillette takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Gillette looks to move to half guard but instead Villegas has passed into mount! Damn! Gillette tries to lock up and control but Villegas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Villegas working for a submission but Gillette is keeping him at bay. Villegas goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Gillette is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gillette misses with an uppercut. Villegas saw that one coming. Gillette bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Gillette tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Villegas was well out of range. Poor timing from Gillette. Gillette looks to score with a jab to the body but Villegas is just out of range. Villegas loads up on a big right hand but Gillette slips the punch. Gillette throws an overhand right that lands on Villegas's shoulder, as Villegas tries to avoid the shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gillette misses with a wild body shot. Villegas has a takedown stuffed. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gillette lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Villegas has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Villegas and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Gillette misses with a hook. Villegas ducked under it nicely. Villegas slips under a jab from Gillette.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gillette throws a shot from downtown. Villegas moves away and avoids it. Gillette tries a head kick but it misses.
Villegas uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gillette. Gillette ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Villegas moves away. Gillette swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Villegas throws out a loose jab but Gillette uses good head movement to avoid it. Villegas scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Gillette on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Villegas swings around for an armbar but Gillette sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Villegas's guard. Villegas throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Villegas is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Villegas is working an open guard so Gillette takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Villegas is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Gillette.
It looks like Harry Villegas has been cut. Gillette is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Villegas checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Gillette waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Villegas. Gillette looks to score with a jab to the body but Villegas is just out of range. Gillette just misses with a punch to the body.
Gillette feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Villegas's calf. Villegas swings for the body but Gillette moves out of range.

Villegas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gillette is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Villegas is controlling him well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Villegas trying to control the position but Gillette is working away. Villegas is trying to get an arm triangle but Gillette is defending well. Gillette stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Villegas in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Gillette is not content to let Villegas control the position. Villegas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gillette, who protects the arm well. Villegas gets to mount! Gillette was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Harry Villegas will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Harry Villegas's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Villegas takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Villegas throws a hook but Gillette blocks it. Gillette looks for the body kick but Villegas saw that one coming. Nice takedown defense from Gillette. No joy for Villegas on that attempt. Villegas moves out of range of the leg kick from Gillette. Villegas shoots in and bounces Gillette off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Villegas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gillette utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Villegas passes Gillette's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Villegas is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Villegas is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gillette to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gillette shrugs it off. Villegas wants to control the pace but Gillette is squirming around nicely. Gillette stops Villegas from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Villegas has control of Gillette's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gillette regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Villegas trying to control but Gillette is having none of it. Jacques Gillette has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Villegas prevents Gillette from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Villegas trying to control but he's not successful this time. Villegas has isolated one of Gillette's arms. Gillette looking to fight him off but Villegas twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
