Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex legrand!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Slacks Houligan!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Houligan.
Houligan working the ground and pound.
legrand gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Houligan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
legrand blocking the ground and pound attempt from Houligan.
Houligan is nestled in close to legrand, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
legrand moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
legrand looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
legrand working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Houligan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Houligan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This has been an exciting period of action!
legrand looking for a guillotine here but Houligan defends easily.
legrand wants to get back to his feet but Houligan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Houligan tries to free his leg and advance position but legrand is retaining full guard.
legrand has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Houligan should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, legrand has tightened it up now! Houligan should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
