Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dudley Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and carlos Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dawson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lambda Lambda Lambda Song. carlos Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dudley Dawson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, carlos Jones! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones wants to clinch. Dawson throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot. Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Dawson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones wants to clinch up but Dawson keeps it at a distance. Dawson tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it. Dawson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dudley Dawson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dawson shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Dawson lands a nice shot to the body.
Dawson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dawson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dawson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Dawson tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Dawson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones stuffs the takedown. Dawson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jones to score an easy takedown into full guard. Jones preventing the sweep. Jones passes into half guard. Jones prevents Dawson from improving his position. Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dawson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones prevents Dawson from improving his position. Dawson is breathing heavily. Dawson has hold of Jones's hands but Jones slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is looking to advance position but Dawson won't allow it. Jones scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Dawson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jones. Jones working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Jones is nestled in close to Dawson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jones lands with a punch from half guard. Jones landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time. Dawson wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Jones is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones with the ground and pound but Dawson uses the opportunity to regain guard. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Dawson is retaining full guard. Dawson is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.
Dawson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Dawson has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though. Jones is working Dawson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Dawson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dawson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Jones thows a big elbow that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
carlos Jones dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A punch combination from Dawson misses. Dawson fails with the takedown and Jones holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Jones lands an elbow just above Dawson 's eye. Dawson takes a knee right on the jaw!
Dawson takes an elbow to the temple. Dawson tries to score a body lock takedown but Jones shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Jones tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones unloads a knee to the mid-section. Dawson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Jones scores a nice knee to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Jones as Dawson tries to tie him up. Dawson blocks an elbow strike. Dawson jumps guard but Jones stands there with Dawson around his waist. Dawson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dudley Dawson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dawson trying to control the position but instead, Jones has worked for underhooks and has pushed Dawson into the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dawson lands a good knee to the midsection. Jones won't want to take too many of those. Dawson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dawson misses with a combination
and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dawson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jones throws a strike but Dawson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Jones working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dawson is stalling in the full guard. Dawson drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Dawson off! Dawson jumps back into Jones's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dawson scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Dawson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jones, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dawson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Dawson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dawson decides to take the fight back to the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Dudley Dawson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dawson. Jones looks to clinch and Dawson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jones thinking. Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Dawson. Dawson gets slowly back to his feet. Dawson shoots in and gets a takedown into Jones's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dawson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dawson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Dawson trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. carlos Jones has got the better of the ground game so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dawson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dawson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Dawson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dawson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Dawson moves into full mount! Jones won't be happy about that!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dawson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jones has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Dawson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jones manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dawson working the ground and pound. Dawson has an Americana. Jones didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Dawson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Dawson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
