Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Crug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owais Jaber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crug's entrance music is Welcome to the jungle. A fine choice. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Owais Jaber!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crug tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Jaber avoids the body shot from Crug.

Crug drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Nice uppercut lands for Jaber. That snapped Crug's head back.
Crug gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Crug looks for the body kick but Jaber saw that one coming.
Crug throws a head kick but Jaber moves out of range.

Jaber cracks a nice hook into Crug's ribs.
Jaber throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Crug on the side of the head.

Jaber lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Owais Jaber is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jaber scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Jaber stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jaber's corner calls for a 1-2. Jaber obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Crug shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Crug looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Jaber lands a head shot.
Crug takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Crug takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Crug has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jaber finds it's way round the side to connect with Crug's head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Crug takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Jaber moves into range and connects with a jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owais Jaber dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jaber might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Crug might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Crug shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jaber lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Crug is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The fighters circle momentarily. Jaber darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jaber scores with a hook to the body. Crug takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

The crowd cheers as Jaber lands an impressive looking overhand right. Crug doesn't seem phased though.
Jaber lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Crug moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Jaber connects with a single shot there.
Jaber jabs Crug right on the nose. Crug blinks but takes it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Crug shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Jaber lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Crug falls backwards - clearly groggy! Jaber dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
