Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wes Weddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Juno Reactor - Pistolero. Weddle has chosen remember the name - fort minor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Wes Weddle has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Enrique Mendez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wes Weddle! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez swinging wildly here.
Weddle looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mendez misses with a two punch combination.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Weddle. Weddle is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mendez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Mendez wants to get back to his feet but Weddle drags him back down. Mendez dodges the ground and pound from Weddle. Weddle working the ground and pound but Mendez is defending the strikes. Mendez is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Weddle working the head and body with strikes. Weddle is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mendez has escaped the position, nice work there. Weddle lands a nice forearm strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weddle is trying to get an arm triangle but Mendez is defending well. Weddle trying to control the position but Mendez is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Weddle is trying to ground and pound but Mendez uses the momentary lack of control by Weddle to regain half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendez is trying to stand.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Weddle connects with a nice short shot to Mendez's temple. Weddle wants to take a breather but Mendez is having none of it. Weddle throwing shots but Mendez is blocking nicely. Mendez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Weddle. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mendez is looking to escape. Weddle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mendez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mendez tries to get out of the position. Mendez pushes Weddle off looking to stand but Weddle dives back in and keeps control.
Weddle throwing shots but Mendez is blocking nicely. Weddle is trying to control the action in half guard but Mendez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Weddle throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Weddle sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mendez defending well though. Weddle stops Mendez from getting back to his feet.
Mendez is breathing heavily. Weddle thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mendez's head. Mendez regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Weddle. Mendez wants to stand up but Weddle is controlling him. Weddle throws a big right hand that misses. Weddle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. That's three minutes gone in the round. Weddle keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mendez's head. Weddle landing with the ground and pound. Weddle lands a couple of elbows. Weddle thows a big elbow that misses. Weddle throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mendez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Weddle drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mendez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Weddle has Mendez in his guard. Mendez preventing the sweep. Weddle can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mendez controls the pace. Mendez trying to stand up but can't free himself from Weddle's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendez won't allow Weddle to sweep him here. Weddle pulls Mendez in close to prevent any damage. Weddle keeping moving, preventing Mendez from controlling successfully. Mendez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Enrique Mendez wasn't doing enough on the ground. Weddle tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mendez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Weddle somewhat. Weddle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Weddle landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Weddle thows a huge punch but Mendez dodges it nicely.
Weddle has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Nice strikes from Weddle there. Weddle not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ground and pound from Weddle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wes Weddle dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Mendez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A looping hook to the body misses from Mendez. Weddle does a little dance to reset his feet. Weddle shoots in and bounces Mendez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Weddle working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Mendez wants to stand and escape but Weddle is having none of it. Weddle is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Weddle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Weddle stops Mendez from standing up. Weddle throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mendez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Weddle postures up in Mendez's guard and throws a big left but Mendez blocks it. Weddle lands a couple of decent looking shots. Weddle wants to control from the top but Mendez keeps moving. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Mendez keeping full guard, as Weddle tries to pass. Weddle throwing strikes but missing. Mendez pushes Weddle off and gets back to his feet.
Weddle ducks under a wild hook from Mendez. Mendez keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mendez throws out a loose jab but Weddle uses good head movement to avoid it. Nice sprawl there from Mendez as Weddle shoots in. Weddle changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Weddle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mendez pinned against the cage. Mendez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Enrique Mendez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Weddle shoots in but no luck this time. Enrique Mendez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wes Weddle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jab from Mendez. Mendez misses with a straight right. Weddle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mendez pinned against the cage. Mendez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Weddle shoots in but no luck this time. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mendez, as that shot connected.
Weddle throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mendez was covering up waiting for the punch and Weddle finishes the takedown easily into guard. Mendez pushes Weddle off and scrambles back to his feet.
Mendez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Weddle looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Weddle misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mendez lands a really nice looking cross but Weddle seems unphased.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mendez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Mendez scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Mendez is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Weddle ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Mendez throws a body punch but Weddle moves out of range. Weddle gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Mendez tries to circle away but Weddle has him pinned against the cage. Mendez blocks an uppercut.

Mendez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Weddle shoots in for a takedown but Mendez shows good takedown defense. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Weddle is defended easily by Mendez. Mendez is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendez stuffs the takedown attempt from Weddle. Weddle gets slowly back to his feet. A punch combination from Mendez misses. Weddle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mendez sprawls well. Mendez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Weddle gets slowly back to his feet. Mendez works the jab nicely. Mendez scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. A slow jab from Mendez misses its intended target. Mendez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Weddle. Mendez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Mendez goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Weddle lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mendez will feel that in the morning. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mendez scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Mendez throws a nice looking combination but Weddle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Weddle changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mendez tries to avoid it but Weddle manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mendez to the ground. Mendez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Weddle wants to clinch up but Mendez keeps it at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Enrique Mendez will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Weddle connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Mendez's hands. Mendez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Weddle on the side of the head. Weddle gets a clinch. Mendez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Weddle tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mendez's elbow. Mendez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weddle jabs at Mendez's body. Weddle throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Weddle shoots in but Mendez avoids the takedown attempt easily. Enrique Mendez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wes Weddle. A momentary lapse in concentration from Mendez enables Weddle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mendez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Weddle scoring with punches to the head and body. Weddle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Weddle throws and elbow that misses. Mendez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Weddle's guard. Nice move by Mendez! Mendez wants to control from the top but Weddle keeps moving. Weddle controls Mendez momentarily but Mendez frees himself. Mendez tries to free his leg and advance position but Weddle is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weddle lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mendez! Weddle with good strikes from the mount here! Weddle punishing his opponent with strikes. Mendez takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. You get the feeling that Mendez really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Weddle has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mendez's face.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Weddle looking to ground and pound but Mendez is blocking nicely. Mendez is in a horrible position here. Weddle smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Weddle is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Mendez has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Mendez! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Weddle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mendez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mendez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that's the end of the fight! Wes Weddle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Weddle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
