Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Desmond McGuinness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Desmond McGuinness!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Storm!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Storm takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Storm darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGuinness is trying to get back to full guard.
McGuinness keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
McGuinness avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Storm.

McGuinness looking for submissions off his back.
Storm is keen to just control but McGuinness is a slippery customer.
Storm is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
McGuinness is trying to get back to full guard.
Storm sitting and controlling from the half guard.

McGuinness is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
McGuinness on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McGuinness tries to get out of the position.
Storm wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGuinness keeps working.

Dean Storm has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - McGuinness looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Storm shoots in and bounces McGuinness off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Storm stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGuinness swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dean Storm was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Storm tries to clinch but McGuinness moves out of range.
McGuinness shoots for a double leg takedown but Storm sprawls well. He's pushed McGuinness's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Storm shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McGuinness as he jumps to the side.
McGuinness looks to land a combination but Storm avoids it well.

Storm drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
McGuinness is not content to let Storm control the position.
McGuinness tries to improve position but can't.
McGuinness is breathing heavily.

Storm is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McGuinness knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Storm wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McGuinness, who protects the arm well.
McGuinness is not content to let Storm control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dean Storm dominated that round.

McGuinness takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

It looks like Dean Storm has been cut.

McGuinness closes the distance and pushes Storm back into the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McGuinness tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Storm smiles and moves away.

Desmond McGuinness is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Storm rushes McGuinness and presses him up against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Storm jumps guard but McGuinness stands there with Storm around his waist. Storm gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Storm unloads a knee to the mid-section. McGuinness lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

McGuinness lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by McGuinness.
Desmond McGuinness seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Storm changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGuinness tries to avoid it but Storm manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGuinness to the ground. McGuinness escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Storm accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dean Storm hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
McGuinness dodges the punch combination from Storm.

McGuinness has Storm up against the cage in a clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from McGuinness.
McGuinness lands a right hand that snaps the head of Storm backwards.
McGuinness has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Storm is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Storm breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Storm avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Storm has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Storm looks to land a combination but McGuinness avoids it well.

McGuinness instigates a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McGuinness lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
McGuinness has Storm pressed against the cage, preventing Storm from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

That was a close second round but I would say that Desmond McGuinness will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Dean Storm's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


McGuinness scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Storm lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as McGuinness backs up against the cage.
McGuinness tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Storm paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Storm shoots in and drives through. McGuinness sprawls well.
McGuinness clobbers Storm with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Storm will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McGuinness connects with a good right hand that stumbles Storm. Storm circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
McGuinness fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Storm misses with a takedown attempt - McGuinness sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Desmond McGuinness has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Storm.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

McGuinness gets control of Storm's arms and successfully pulls guard. McGuinness will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Storm blocks the strikes from McGuinness.

McGuinness is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Storm pulls his head out easily.

McGuinness desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Desmond McGuinness showed his dominance in that final round.
