The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
sebastien closes the distance and clinches up with Lawrence, looking for a takedown. sebastien pushes Lawrence against the cage but Lawrence circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kevin Lawrence seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
sebastien gets caught flat footed, as Lawrence shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from sebastien enables Lawrence to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. sebastien manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
sebastien throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lawrence escapes and throws sebastien's legs to the side, diving into side control!

sebastien is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Lawrence uses his free foot to push down on sebastien's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for sebastien.

Lawrence feints and as sebastien raises his hands in defense, Lawrence changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

sebastien is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lawrence defends well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
We're going to have a standup here because Kevin Lawrence wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
