Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fuma Kotaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walt Nightman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kotaro might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bang Bang. Nightman is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Night Man. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fuma Kotaro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Walt Nightman! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nightman slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Nightman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Kotaro tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nightman swats him away and circles back towards the center. A lazy left from Nightman finds it's target. Kotaro slips a jab and a cross from Nightman.
Kotaro misses with a takedown attempt - Nightman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nightman moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Kotaro displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nightman throws out the jab. Nightman avoids the head kick by Kotaro.
Nightman looks to land a combination. Kotaro sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Nightman misses with a body shot.
Nightman scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Nightman connects with a right hand. Kotaro shakes it off. Kotaro throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Nightman is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Nightman has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kotaro. Nightman looks to land a right hand but Kotaro moved out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kotaro throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Nightman lands a head shot. Nightman takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Kotaro throws a head kick but Nightman moves out of range.
Kotaro shoots in looking for a takedown. Nightman tries to sprawl out of it but Kotaro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nightman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nightman throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Nightman tries to keep at a distance but Kotaro has taken the fight into the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Nightman. Kotaro misses with a knee to the head. Nightman manages to break the clinch.
Nightman tries to bum rush Kotaro with a series of wild strikes but Kotaro uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nice uppercut lands for Nightman. That snapped Kotaro's head back.
Kotaro tries to clinch there but Nightman circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kotaro takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Nightman has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Nightman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kotaro. Kotaro tries to clinch but Nightman is having none of it. A telegraphed right hand from Nightman misses the target. Kotaro fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fuma Kotaro. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice shot by Nightman. Kotaro gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Nightman throws a hook to the side of Kotaro's head but Kotaro sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Walt Nightman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kotaro tries to clinch up. Nightman bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Kotaro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kotaro staying out of range there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nightman throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nightman fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kotaro checks it well. Nightman lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kotaro at a distance.
Kotaro takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Nightman scores with the left hand. Kotaro knows he should have avoided that one. Nightman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Walt Nightman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kotaro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nightman sprawls well. Nightman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kotaro gets slowly back to his feet. A jab lands there for Nightman. Nightman throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Nightman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kotaro takes a body punch but keeps moving. Nightman lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kotaro will feel that in the morning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A low kick from Nightman misses and Kotaro counters with a nice leg kick. Kotaro throws a push kick but Nightman slaps the foot to one side. Nightman scores with a push kick. Kotaro sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Nightman connects with a solid leg kick. Nightman connects with a body shot. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nightman lands a nice looking body shot.
Kotaro is breathing heavily. A nice leg kick lands there from Nightman. Nightman lands a really nice looking cross but Kotaro seems unphased.
Nightman is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kotaro had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Nightman lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kotaro takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kotaro has a takedown stuffed. A decent looking body kick lands there for Nightman. Kotaro takes a body punch but keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Walt Nightman dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Nightman throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Nightman throws a leg kick and Kotaro counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Nightman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kotaro is working away from the top position though. Kotaro stalling. Nightman wants to control but Kotaro is keeping busy and won't allow it. Nightman is trying to stand.
Kotaro trying to control from half guard but Nightman is working away. Nightman is trying to maintain the position but Kotaro is very close to passing his half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Walt Nightman has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Kotaro throws a sloppy head kick and Nightman makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Kotaro tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Nightman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nightman scores with a crisp jab that stopped Kotaro in his tracks. Kotaro moves to clinch but Nightman breaks away and Nightman counters with a leg kick. Kotaro on the wrong end of a nice jab. Nightman checks the leg kick. Nightman scores with a jab. Kotaro acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Nightman turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Kotaro has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kotaro there as he acknowledges the shot. A low kick from Nightman is predictable there and Kotaro counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Nightman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kotaro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nightman makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nightman. Nightman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kotaro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kotaro manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nightman keeping moving, preventing Kotaro from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kotaro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nightman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nightman is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kotaro trying to control but Nightman is working from the bottom. Kotaro looking to sit in guard and control but Nightman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kotaro working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kotaro looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Nightman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Nightman wants to get up but he can't break Kotaro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kotaro has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Nightman is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kotaro. Nightman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kotaro keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kotaro is looking to reverse the position. Nightman has control of an arm but Kotaro manages to advance to Nightman's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nightman defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Kotaro's arms. Nightman wants to escape the position.
Kotaro is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Nightman with him. Nightman is trying to defend but Kotaro has an arm under the chin now! Nightman grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Fuma Kotaro!
