And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zachery Rey!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicken tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rey swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rey throws a hook but Hicken avoids it easily.

No joy there for Rey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rey displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hicken throws out the jab.

and Hicken counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A punch lands to the side of Rey 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Rey closes the distance but Hicken moves to the side
and Hicken counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hicken throws out a leg kick but Rey moves out of range and Hicken only half commits.
Hicken lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Hicken throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rey has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Rey misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rey throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hicken counters with a left to the body.
Bret Hicken is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rey takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Zachery Rey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rey walks into a stiff left hand from Hicken.
Rey gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hicken.
Hicken dives in and grabs Rey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rey pushes down on Hicken's head and hops out.
Hicken stalks Rey and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rey's face. Rey staggers backwards, shaken.
Rey misses the shot to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bret Hicken showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Hicken has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
