The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagat loads up on a big right hand but Murphy slips the punch.
Sagat lands with a kick to the ribs.
Sagat's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Sagat duly obliges.
Sagat misses the shot to the body.
Sagat misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sagat lands with an uppercut that bounces Murphy off the cage and back into rage.
A solid body kick from Sagat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A nice inside leg kick there by Sagat. That's going to slow Murphy down.
Murphy looks gassed!
Sagat moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Murphy goes down! Can Sagat finish him!?
Murphy is rocked!
Sagat loads up on a big left hand. Murphy felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Sagat looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Murphy can't hide his disappointment, as Sagat celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Sagat!
