Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gordy Nennigs ! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Nennigs enables Sagonov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nennigs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Sagonov controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Sagonov is looking to work some ground and pound but Nennigs has wrist control. Sagonov trying to control the position from guard on top but Nennigs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sagonov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Sagonov pushes down on Nennigs 's leg and manages to get into half guard. Well, if Sagonov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Sagonov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sagonov is keen to just control but Nennigs is a slippery customer. Nennigs keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Sagonov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Sagonov passes into side control, despite Nennigs 's attempt to control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nennigs can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee asks Sagonov politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Sagonov prefers to stall for the moment though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sagonov wants to control but Nennigs is keeping him busy. Sagonov is putting a hurting on Nennigs here, landing some big shots from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nennigs tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sagonov swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nennigs closes the distance and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nennigs lands an elbow that stopped Sagonov in his tracks for a moment.

Nennigs lands a big right hand that drops Sagonov! The killer instinct kicks in and Nennigs finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Nennigs !
