Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toribio Ezcurra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Raskolnikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ezcurra comes to the cage accompanied by No Apologies. Raskolnikov has chosen Chop Suey as his entrance music. Toribio Ezcurra could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Vladimir Raskolnikov's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Toribio Ezcurra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vladimir Raskolnikov! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Russell Pearce and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ezcurra connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Raskolnikov's hands. Raskolnikov lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Ezcurra shoots in for a takedown but Raskolnikov shows good takedown defense. Excellent takedown into side control there by Ezcurra. Ezcurra wants to stand but Raskolnikov has his arm trapped. Ezcurra controls the position. Ezcurra wants to take a breather but Raskolnikov manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Ezcurra. Ezcurra not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Raskolnikov keeping moving, preventing Ezcurra from controlling successfully. Ezcurra controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Toribio Ezcurra wasn't doing enough on the ground. Ezcurra throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Raskolnikov's waist but Raskolnikov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ezcurra off to one side. Raskolnikov throws the left hand but Ezcurra avoids the punch easily. Raskolnikov stuffs the takedown attempt from Ezcurra. Ezcurra gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Toribio Ezcurra. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ezcurra takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Raskolnikov clinches. Ezcurra is trying to stall.

Raskolnikov's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Raskolnikov looking to stall.

Ezcurra slowing the pace effectively. Ezcurra is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Ezcurra has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Raskolnikov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Ezcurra for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Toribio Ezcurra. Raskolnikov misses with a wild combination.
Ezcurra gets tackled into the cage by Raskolnikov. Raskolnikov maintains the clinch. Ezcurra looking to slow down the pace here. Raskolnikov gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ezcurra.
Come on Raskolnikov - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ezcurra is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Raskolnikov can't fight it off and eventually Ezcurra manages to take the fight to the floor. Raskolnikov looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Raskolnikov pulls Ezcurra in close to prevent any damage. Raskolnikov keeping full guard, as Ezcurra tries to pass. Raskolnikov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Raskolnikov keeping moving, preventing Ezcurra from controlling successfully. Raskolnikov being controlled here, momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ezcurra checks a leg kick nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Raskolnikov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ezcurra shoots in for a double leg but Raskolnikov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Raskolnikov loads up on a big right hand but Ezcurra slips the punch. Ezcurra shoots for a double leg takedown but Raskolnikov sprawls well. He's pushed Ezcurra's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ezcurra shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Raskolnikov as he jumps to the side. Raskolnikov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Ezcurra is trying hard to land a takedown here. Raskolnikov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Raskolnikov throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Raskolnikov forces Ezcurra back against the cage and clinches. Raskolnikov is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Ezcurra trying to control the position but instead, Raskolnikov has worked for underhooks and has pushed Ezcurra into the cage. Ezcurra gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Raskolnikov.

And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.
Vladimir Raskolnikov dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Raskolnikov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Raskolnikov wants it to stay on the feet. Raskolnikov slaps away a takedown attempt from Ezcurra, before circling back to the center of the mat. Ezcurra shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Raskolnikov sprawls well. Raskolnikov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ezcurra gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Toribio Ezcurra. That's going to take a lot out of him. Raskolnikov thows a left - swing and a miss! Raskolnikov tries to clinch up. Ezcurra circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ezcurra tries to score a power double leg takedown but Raskolnikov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ezcurra somewhat. Ezcurra shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Raskolnikov as he avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Good exchange - Ezcurra coming out on top. Raskolnikov takes a swing at Ezcurra's ribcage but misses. Raskolnikov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ezcurra fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Raskolnikov clinches.

Ezcurra is pushing Raskolnikov up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Ezcurra is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Maybe Ezcurra would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much. Raskolnikov manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Horrible takedown by Ezcurra or perhaps it was just good defense by Raskolnikov which made him look bad. Ezcurra fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Raskolnikov avoids it really well and circles away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nice takedown defense from Raskolnikov. No joy for Ezcurra on that attempt. Raskolnikov ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Ezcurra looks for a takedown but Raskolnikov sprawls well. Ezcurra moves forwards but Raskolnikov connects with a nice, crisp jab. Some bone on bone action there as Ezcurra checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Ezcurra takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Ezcurra walks into a straight right hand from Raskolnikov. Raskolnikov loads up on a big right hand but Ezcurra slips the punch. Raskolnikov lands a nice shot that snaps Ezcurra's head back.
Raskolnikov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ezcurra circles away quickly and effectively. Raskolnikov moves away from the strike by Ezcurra. Ezcurra shoots for a double leg takedown but Raskolnikov sprawls well. He's pushed Ezcurra's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A jab from Raskolnikov does it's job there. Ezcurra shoots in for a takedown but Raskolnikov shows good takedown defense. Raskolnikov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Ezcurra shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Raskolnikov defends it nicely.

Horrible takedown by Ezcurra or perhaps it was just good defense by Raskolnikov which made him look bad. Vladimir Raskolnikov seems to be getting the better of the standup. Raskolnikov scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Raskolnikov jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Raskolnikov looks to land a combination. Ezcurra sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Ezcurra is rocked!
It looks like Toribio Ezcurra has been cut. Raskolnikov cracks Ezcurra with a left hook right on the temple and Ezcurra goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Raskolnikov lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Ezcurra is OK!
