Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keita Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abongo Humphrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abongo Humphrey will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keita Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Abongo Humphrey!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Humphrey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Humphrey is defended easily by Nakamura.

Humphrey drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Nakamura is working an open guard so Humphrey takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Humphrey lands a nice looking body kick.
Humphrey stalks Nakamura and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nakamura's face. Nakamura staggers backwards, shaken.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Humphrey lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Nakamura drives through with a takedown into guard.
Nakamura is breathing heavily.
Humphrey wants to stand up but Nakamura is controlling him.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Humphrey is on top in guard.

Nakamura pushes Humphrey off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Humphrey is defended easily by Nakamura.
Keita Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Humphrey lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Humphrey enables Nakamura to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Humphrey manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Humphrey is standing up over Nakamura. Nakamura looks to escape but Humphrey dives into side control.
Humphrey remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

and Humphrey counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Nakamura.
Nakamura has knee on belly momentarily but Humphrey bucks him off and regains half guard.

Humphrey has his feet on Nakamura's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Nakamura shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Humphrey defends it nicely.

Nice takedown defense from Nakamura. No joy for Humphrey on that attempt.
Horrible takedown by Nakamura or perhaps it was just good defense by Humphrey which made him look bad.

Humphrey is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Humphrey is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Nakamura scores with a couple of nice shots.

You get the feeling that Nakamura really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Humphrey stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well Humphrey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
