Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael weston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Forrest Buck Jr! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buck Jr closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. weston tests Buck Jr's chin there with a solid looking shot. weston lands with a good body shot. weston throws an overhand right that lands on Buck Jr's shoulder, as Buck Jr tries to avoid the shot. The fighters circling - weston throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Buck Jr on the wrong end of a nice jab. weston moves out of range of the leg kick from Buck Jr. Buck Jr avoids a lazy jab quite easily. weston moves into range and connects with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. weston tests Buck Jr's chin there with a solid looking shot. Buck Jr wants to land a leg kick but weston is out of range. weston loads up on a big right hand but Buck Jr slips the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. weston lunges at Buck Jr with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Buck Jr's hand. Buck Jr blocks a jab. Michael weston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Buck Jr fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. weston sprawls well initially but Buck Jr persists and gets the takedown into half guard. weston blocking the ground and pound attempt from Buck Jr. weston wants to get back to his feet.
Buck Jr is controlling the pace.
weston looks like he's trying to stand up.
weston is looking to get back to is feet but Buck Jr passes into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. weston is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Buck Jr is controlling him well. Buck Jr is looking to take a break and control but weston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Buck Jr has hold of weston's arm. He's looking for a kimura. weston seems comfortable defending it but Buck Jr has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! weston is real pain and he's forced to tap out! weston is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Buck Jr couldn't care less - he's delighted!
