The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verzosa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Takasu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Takasu avoids the body shot from Verzosa.
Verzosa swings for the body but Takasu moves out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Takasu 's head but he takes it in his stride.
It looks like Ryuuji Takasu has been cut.
Verzosa misses with a wild body shot.
Verzosa misses the shot to the body.
Verzosa misses the jab.
Verzosa throws a jab when Takasu was well out of range.
Verzosa scores with a jab.
Verzosa ducks under a wild hook from Takasu.
Takasu moves forwards but Verzosa connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Takasu dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Takasu moves in looking to clinch but Verzosa pushes him off.

and Verzosa scores with a counter punch that sends Takasu to the canvas! Verzosa smells blood - he's punishing Takasu with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Takasu has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
