Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lukasz Korczynski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Korczynski misses with the combination.
Korczynski closes the distance and clinches up with Nogueira, looking for a takedown. Korczynski pushes Nogueira against the cage but Nogueira circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Korczynski attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Korczynski could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Nogueira tries for a takedown but Korczynski circles away easily and Korczynski counters with a nice double leg into guard. Nogueira working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Korczynski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Korczynski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nogueira pushes Korczynski off and scrambles back to his feet.
Korczynski misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nogueira shoots in for a double leg but Korczynski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nogueira shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Korczynski defends it nicely. Lukasz Korczynski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Korczynski fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nogueira sprawls well initially but Korczynski persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Korczynski is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nogueira pushes Korczynski off looking to stand but Korczynski dives back in and keeps control.
Korczynski is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Nogueira to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Korczynski is looking to stand up but Nogueira won't let him. Nogueira pushes Korczynski off and scrambles back to his feet.
Nogueira shoots for a double leg takedown but Korczynski sprawls well. He's pushed Nogueira's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nice takedown defense from Nogueira. No joy for Korczynski on that attempt. Korczynski closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nogueira quickly recovers to half guard. Korczynski is breathing heavily. Nogueira is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Korczynski pulls his head out easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nogueira pushes Korczynski off and gets back to his feet. Korczynski fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Nogueira shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Korczynski counters with a single leg into guard. Nogueira didn't expect that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Korczynski wants to pass the guard but Nogueira is keeping the position. Nogueira is looking to stand up but Korczynski isn't so interested in that idea. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Korczynski accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Korczynski looking to sit in guard and control but Nogueira gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Nogueira throws a big right hand that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nogueira pushes down on Korczynski's leg and manages to get into half guard. Korczynski wants to get back to his feet.
Nice strikes from Nogueira there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Korczynski is trying to stand up here but Nogueira is controlling him well. Korczynski is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Nogueira scores with a couple of nice shots. Nogueira prevents Korczynski from standing back up.
Nogueira is keen to just control but Korczynski is a slippery customer. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Korczynski is trying to stand back up but Nogueira is controlling him
Korczynski is staying active underneath Nogueira, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Korczynski is defending against the submission attempts here by Nogueira.
Still in half guard, Nogueira seems content to control. Nogueira stops Korczynski from getting back to his feet.
Nogueira is nestled in close to Korczynski, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Nogueira is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Korczynski is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
