Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chase Fletcher! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fletcher tries to clinch but Jackson moves out of range. Jackson has managed to clinch.
Jackson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Fletcher blocks it with crossed arms. Fletcher trying to land knees to the body.
Fletcher breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jackson lands a two punch combo.
Fletcher ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Fletcher ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Fletcher stuffs the takedown attempt from Jackson. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet. Fletcher misses with a takedown attempt so Jackson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Jackson preventing the sweep. Fletcher working for a triangle but Jackson defends it easily.
Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Fletcher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson stands and throws Fletcher's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jackson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Fletcher has escaped the position, nice work there. Fletcher is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jackson is controlling him well. Fletcher really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jackson trying to control the action but Fletcher is working from the bottom. Jackson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Fletcher will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Jackson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Jackson is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Fletcher looks calm but he's in trouble here. Jackson gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Fletcher is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Jackson lets go of the hold and Fletcher can pop his arm back in it's socket.
