The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masters scores with a one two! Dos Alva had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Murilo Dos Alva has been cut.

Dos Alva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Masters looking for a guillotine here but Dos Alva defends easily.
Dos Alva not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Masters escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dos Alva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dos Alva shoots in looking for a takedown but Masters manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dos Alva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Masters lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Dos Alva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Masters escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dos Alva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dos Alva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Masters is looking to stand up but Dos Alva isn't so interested in that idea.

Masters looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Dos Alva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Masters's guard.

Dos Alva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Masters has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dos Alva has managed to get both his arms back between Masters's legs - danger averted.
