Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Davids (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brett Davids! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davids scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Davids getting the better of the striking in that exchange. A cross from Davids lands. Davids lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Davids tries to sprawl but Lee drives through with a takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Lee thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lee thows a huge punch but Davids dodges it nicely.
Davids is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Davids trying to control but Lee postures up.

Davids is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Davids kicks Lee off and gets back to his feet. Lee fails with a takedown attempt. Davids throws a good cross that connects.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Davids sprawls well initially but Lee persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Davids wants to get back to full guard. Lee missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Davids holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Davids is pressing down on Lee's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Davids is adopting a defensive guard. Lee distracts Davids with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Lee throws a big right hand that misses. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davids can do anything to dispel that myth. Davids pulls Lee in close to his closed guard and prevents Lee from doing any damage or advancing position. Lee loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Davids is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Davidsis looking to pass into half guard but Lee pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lee is in guard. Lee lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Lee throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Davids lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lee! Lee is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Davids trying to control but Lee is having none of it. Davids is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lee to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lee shrugs it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davids moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lee has worked his arm free - good work by Lee!
Davids wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy. Davids goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lee has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Davids but great work by Lee.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. You can see the frustration on Davids's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Lee misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Davids is looking for a sweep. Lee looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Davids is avoiding damage well.
Davids wants to get back to his feet. Davids wants to control but Lee postures up. Lee cracks Davids with an elbow. That is naaassty. Lee is chipping away with strikes.

You can see the frustration on Davids's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lee lands a few punches from side control. Lee lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Davids down.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Davids lands with a hook. Lee tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Lee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Davids as he avoids it easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Davids scores with a nice head shot. Lee takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Brett Davids showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Lee has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Davids finds it's way round the side to connect with Lee's head. Davids lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Lee throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Davids connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Davids blocks a head kick by Lee.
Lee tries to clinch up. Davids stuffs the takedown. Lee fails with the takedown. Lee tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Davids manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Davids is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Davids avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lee gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Davids. Lee has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Dan Lee has been cut. Davids might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Davids lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Good standup being displayed there by Davids as he connects with a hook. Lee misses with a double jab
and Davids counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A left and a right from Davids both land. Nice combination. Davids connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lee's hands. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Davids lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Davids goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Lee darts in trying to clinch and Davids counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Davids is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Davids works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Davids scores with a decent looking hook. Davids scores with a sloppy right hand. Lee should have avoided that one. Lee throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davids's waist but Davids gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lee off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davids lands a slapping body shot.
Davids darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Lee has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Davids finds it's way round the side to connect with Lee's head. A shot to the liver by Davids. Beautiful body shot. Lee with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Davids to score with a decent uppercut. Nice uppercut there from Davids. Davids closes the distance and lands a one-two. Lee looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davids lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Davids. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Davids punishes Lee's body with a nice straight punch. Davids scores with a nice head shot. Davids digs a good body shot into Lee's ribs. A nice combination there by Davids.

Davids works over Lee's head and body with a nice combination. Davids lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Davids lands a nice shot to the body.
Lee takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Davids looks to land a combination. Lee sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Davids fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Davids jabs Lee to the body, keeping him at a distance. Dan Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good shot there by Davids. Lee takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Lee shoots in and drives through. Davids sprawls well. Lee walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Lee gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Davids scores with a jab to the jaw. Davids lands a jab-cross combination. Davids works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Davids with a body punch. A glancing blow. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Davids clobbers Lee with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Davids lands a two punch combo.
Davids fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lee looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Davids scores with a jab. Lee acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Davids digs a good hook to Lee's body.
And that's the end of the fight! Brett Davids comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Davids has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
