Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nick McSlick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Daniel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nick McSlick has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick McSlick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kirk Daniel!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McSlick throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Daniel was covering up waiting for the punch and McSlick finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McSlick scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daniel wants to stand and escape but McSlick is having none of it.
Daniel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Daniel has his foot on McSlick's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McSlick works his way back into a safe position though.

McSlick seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Daniel wants to stand and escape but McSlick is having none of it.

Daniel wants to sweep here but McSlick controlling him for the moment.
McSlick wants to control from the top but Daniel keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

McSlick stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Daniel is looking to clinch but McSlick is avoiding it.

McSlick shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McSlick was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

McSlick goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Daniel turns into him and now he's in McSlick's guard.
McSlick wants to hit a switch here but Daniel passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for McSlick there!

Daniel won't let McSlick get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
McSlick is wriggling around trying to escape.
Daniel looking to control but McSlick is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Daniel goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now McSlick is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McSlick wants to pass the guard but Daniel is keeping the position.

Daniel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McSlick defends it easily.
McSlick looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
McSlick has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Daniel can't keep his opponent in guard - McSlick advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
McSlick could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
McSlick prevents Daniel from improving his position.
McSlick moves into full mount! Daniel won't be happy about that!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McSlick scores a takedown into full mount!

McSlick is working for a guillotine from mount but Daniel frees his head quite easily.
Daniel really wants to buck McSlick off and get back to his feet.
Daniel is trying to reverse the position but instead McSlick has taken his back - oops!

McSlick is persistently looking for the submission but Daniel is defending it well.
Daniel looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

What can Daniel do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Daniel is taking damage to the body and head.
McSlick controls the action.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McSlick lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Daniel trying to control the position but McSlick manages to sink in the hooks.

McSlick is persistently looking for the submission but Daniel is defending it well.

McSlick keeps control of the position as Daniel tries to break free.
Daniel trying to get back to his feet but McSlick is in full control for now.
McSlick scores with punches to the body.
McSlick is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
McSlick has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McSlick seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Daniel for as long as he can get away with.
McSlick's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Daniel defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of McSlick's arms.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


McSlick lands a nice looking body kick.
Good work by McSlick as he checks the leg kick.

McSlick closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

McSlick breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

McSlick darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
McSlick drops an elbow to the side of Daniel's head.
Daniel missing with punches from the bottom.

McSlick is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McSlick working the head and body with strikes.

McSlick escapes and gets back to his feet.

McSlick closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Daniel to the mat! Daniel manages to get full guard.
Nick McSlick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

McSlick decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Daniel, up you get!

Daniel tries to sprawl but McSlick drives through with a takedown into half guard.
McSlick with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
McSlick working the head and body with strikes.

Daniel trying to control here.
McSlick perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
McSlick prevents Daniel from improving his position.
Daniel is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute McSlick jumps into side control!

Daniel is trying to control McSlick's posture but McSlick avoids it.
Daniel wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

McSlick stands up and beckons Daniel to his feet.

McSlick fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Daniel sprawls well initially but McSlick persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

McSlick is trying to work for a kimura but Daniel is defending well.

McSlick trying to mount his opponent but Daniel defends it.
Daniel is looking to control McSlick's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Daniel avoid being mounted?
McSlick is pressing down on Daniel's thigh, looking to free his foot. Daniel is holding on for now.
Daniel is trying to control but can't.

Nick McSlick showed his dominance in that final round.
Well McSlick has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
