Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Snatch Dat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkins comes to the cage accompanied by "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba. Dat has chosen Bring The Pain as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dave Hawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Snatch Dat!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dat throws a nice outside leg kick.
Dat tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hawkins sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dat somewhat.
Hawkins bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Dat throws a leg kick that misses.
Dat throws a body punch but Hawkins moves out of range.
Hawkins throws a hook but Dat blocks it.
Hawkins thows a left - swing and a miss!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dat lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hawkins has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hawkins and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Dat shoots in looking for a takedown but Hawkins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dat's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Hawkins throws a shot from downtown. Dat moves away and avoids it.
Hawkins takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

No joy there for Dat, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Dat connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Dat throws a push kick but Hawkins slaps the foot to one side.

Dat cracks Hawkins with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Hawkins lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hawkins misses with a straight right.
A jab lands there for Dat.
Dat works the jab nicely.

and Dat counters with a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Snatch Dat dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Snatch Dat hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hawkins moves out of range of the strikes.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dat shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hawkins sprawls well. Hawkins wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dat gets slowly back to his feet.

The ground and pound from Dat seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Dat goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hawkins rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dat's guard! Nice work there by Hawkins!

Well Dat has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
