Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tomar Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Brennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brennan has chosen The Gaslight Anthem - The '59 Sound as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington connects with a body shot that sends Brennan's belly button to the back.
Washington looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Washington scores with a three punch combo!

It looks like Matt Brennan has been cut.
A big left from Brennan misses.
Brennan dips to his left and cracks Washington with an uppercut!
Washington plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Washington slips a straight right by Brennan.
Washington shoots in looking for a takedown. Brennan tries to sprawl out of it but Washington keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brennan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Washington or perhaps it was just good defense by Brennan which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tomar Washington. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A telegraphed right hand from Brennan misses the target.
Washington is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brennan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and Washington decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brennan's guard.
Brennan wants to get back to his feet but Washington is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Washington is really struggling to control Brennan but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tomar Washington just wasn't active enough.

Oooooh!!! Brennan has knocked Washington down with a huge combo! Brennan steps away and waves a wobbly Washington back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Tomar Washington has been cut.
Washington throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Washington throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brennan's waist but Brennan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Washington off to one side.
Brennan misses with a body shot.
Brennan looks to land a right hand but Washington moved out of range.
Brennan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Washington.
Washington shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brennan pinned against the cage. Brennan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Brennan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Washington fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Brennan, pushing him back against the cage.
Brennan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Washington.
Washington has a couple of punches blocked by Brennan.
Brennan is trying to break the clinch but Washington is controlling him.
Washington is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Brennan is defending well for now.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Washington takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Washington stalling in the clinch but Brennan improves position.
Washington goes for a takedown in the clinch but Brennan prevents it.
Washington is breathing heavily.
Washington misses with a body punch.
Washington fails to pull guard.
Brennan is trying to force a seperation but Washington has the dominant position.
Brennan tries to break free but Washington pushes him back against the cage.
Washington tries to pull guard but Brennan holds him up against the cage and eventually Washington drops back down to his feet.

Washington jumps into guard, dragging Brennan to the mat.

Washington has a closed guard, preventing Brennan from standing up.
Brennan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Washington manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Brennan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Washington takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brennan connects with a jab.
Washington gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Brennan gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Washington is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
