The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Old Fella quickly recovers to half guard.

Sato thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sato thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Old Fella if he has to take too many more of those.

Sato breaks from Old Fella's wrist control and lands an elbow.

BOOM! Sato connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Sato scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
