Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Emerson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Pierce! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emerson shoots for a double leg takedown but Pierce sprawls well. He's pushed Emerson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Pierce uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Emerson. Emerson throws a head kick that misses. Emerson shoots for a takedown but Pierce saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Pierce fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Emerson sprawls well initially but Pierce persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Pierce prevents Emerson from improving his position. Pierce seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Pierce is looking to take a break and control but Emerson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Emerson wants to get back to full guard. Emerson regains full guard. Nicely done. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pierce loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pierce scoring with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emerson keeping full guard, as Pierce tries to pass. Pierce is looking to work some ground and pound but Emerson has wrist control. Pierce working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Pierce looking to pass the guard. Pierce throws a big right hand that misses. Pierce wants to pass the guard but Emerson is keeping the position. Pierce is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Pierce cracks Emerson with a solid left hand. Pierce trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pierce is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierce slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Emerson is letting Pierce control him for a moment.

Emerson wants to control but Pierce postures up. Pierce landing a few strikes. Pierce scores with punches from side control. Emerson is breathing heavily. Pierce trying to control the action but Emerson is working from the bottom. Pierce tries to move into full mount but can't pass Emerson's legs. Pierce working the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierce cracks Emerson with an elbow. That is naaassty. Oh Emerson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Pierce lands an elbow. Pierce cracks Emerson with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Pierce immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Emerson is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Pierce!
