PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Inderson Alva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Page kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Stoopid by Snot. Alva has chosen Boogie boogie hedgehog as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Page shoots in but Alva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Page takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Page is breathing heavily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Alva.
Alva misses with a few strikes there.
Alva with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Jimmy Page seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alva connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Page throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alva fails to land with a series of punches.
Alva swats away the attempt to clinch by Page.
Page tries to clinch but Alva moves out of range.
Alva dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Page. That did some damage!
Page shoots in for a takedown but Alva shows good takedown defense.
Page walks into a stiff left hand from Alva.
Alva feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Page's calf.
Page chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Alva can pounce on him.
Alva throws a nice inside leg kick.
Alva misses with a double jab.
Page on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Page pivots, looking for a leg kick but Alva is out of range and Page settles back down.

Page wants to clinch.
Alva lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Page sprawling to the canvas. Alva follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Page hang on?

Page is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alva throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Oh Page is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alva seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Page seems to have got his legs back now.
Alva drops an elbow to the side of Page's head.

Page actively working from the bottom here.
Alva is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Page is looking to improve his position.
Page works his way to full guard. Good work.
Page is trying to control the position but Alva postures up.
Alva cracks Page with a solid left hand.
Page looking to control.

Page is looking for a triangle but Alva pushes his legs off easily.

Page pushes Alva off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Page closes the distance and clinches up with Alva, looking for a takedown. Page pushes Alva against the cage but Alva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Page. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters circle momentarily. Alva darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Page looks for a takedown but Alva sprawls well.
Alva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Page moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Page shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alva as he jumps to the side.
Page shoots in but Alva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Inderson Alva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Page tries to clinch there but Alva circles away.

Page drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Page has hold of Alva's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Alva tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Page cranks the arm and Alva screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Alva, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
