Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Koch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erik Koch!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koch misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Koch swinging wildly here.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Koch.
Knight changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Koch tries to avoid it but Knight manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Koch to the ground. Koch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Koch tries to score a power double leg takedown but Knight sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Koch somewhat.
Kevin Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erik Koch.

and Koch counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Knight is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Kevin Knight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Knight decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Knight is breathing heavily.
Knight seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Koch tries to roll over but Knight keeps him under control.
Koch is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Knight tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Koch manages to get to full guard.

Koch pulls Knight in to control the position.
Koch is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Koch is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Koch misses with a head shot. Knight uses the momentum to regain guard.
Koch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Koch stays in close to Knight's body and controls the position.
Koch chips away with some ground and pound.
Knight keeping moving, preventing Koch from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Erik Koch wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Knight counters with a shoot takedown. Koch fights it but they end up in guard.
Knight wants to stand and escape but instead Koch has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Koch throws a strike but Knight rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Knight wants to stand but Koch is controlling his posture from full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Erik Koch will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A chopping leg kick lands by Koch.
Koch lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Knight fails with the takedown
and Koch makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Knight really felt that one!
Koch will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Koch wants to pass the guard but Knight is keeping the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Koch accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knight not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Koch trying to control but Knight is working from the bottom.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Erik Koch.
Koch throws a left and a right that both miss

and Knight counters with a single leg into guard. Koch didn't expect that.
Koch throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Knight tries to stand but Koch is controlling from the bottom.

Koch has his feet on Knight's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Horrible takedown by Koch or perhaps it was just good defense by Knight which made him look bad.

and Koch counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Knight!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Koch looking for a guillotine from mount but Knight is having none of it.
Knight tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Koch goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Knight is on top in guard.

Koch is working an open guard so Knight takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Koch shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Knight pinned against the cage. Knight gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Erik Koch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Knight's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Knight dives in and grabs Koch's left leg, looking for a takedown. Koch pushes down on Knight's head and hops out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Knight tries to hold on but Koch postures up.
Knight is squirming around, avoiding Koch's attempts to control the action.
Koch sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Koch throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Koch tries to control but Knight wriggling away.
Koch throws some wild stikes that Knight manages to avoid easily.

Koch with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Koch is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Knight to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Knight shrugs it off.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Koch sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Koch's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Erik Koch.
Well Koch has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
