Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between dark matter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julien Abessera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abessera has chosen Get the funk out of my face. as his entrance music. Julien Abessera has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with dark matter's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Julien Abessera!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
matter closes the distance and clinches up with Abessera, looking for a takedown. matter pushes Abessera against the cage but Abessera circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Abessera fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Abessera with a body punch. A glancing blow.
matter is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
matter tries to close the distance and clinch but Abessera swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Abessera throws a big overhand right that connects, sending matter tumbling to the canvas!
It looks like dark matter has been cut.
matter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Abessera's corner is telling him to maintain position.
matter keeping full guard, as Abessera tries to pass.
matter can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Abessera controls the pace.
Abessera pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. matter is keeping the position for now.
Abessera advances to half guard.
Abessera content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Julien Abessera hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Abessera shoots in looking for a takedown. matter tries to sprawl out of it but Abessera keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. matter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
matter showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Abessera.

The fight stays on the outside here - matter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Abessera closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks matter out cold! matter corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Julien Abessera!
