Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Otis Amber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hirohidi Takanaka!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Takanaka changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Amber looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Amber tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Takanaka looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Amber wants to control but Takanaka postures up.
Amber is not content to let Takanaka control the position.
Amber tries to buck Takanaka off but Takanaka is having none of it.
Takanaka working the ground and pound.
Takanaka trying to control the position but Amber is working away.
Amber throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Amber tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Takanaka wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Takanaka is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Amber is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
You can see the frustration on Amber's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Takanaka counters with a head kick. That will keep Amber thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Takanaka counters with a nice low kick that buckles Amber's knee momentarily.

and Takanaka counters with a left and a right that stings Amber.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hirohidi Takanaka dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Takanaka moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Otis Amber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Takanaka seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Amber is holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Takanaka shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Amber's guard.
Amber is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Otis Amber has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Takanaka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
