Wagner comes to the cage accompanied by Nightcrawler. Spenser is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bring me to Life by Evanescence. 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elliot Spenser! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spenser throws out a loose jab but Wagner uses good head movement to avoid it. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Spenser, right into the meat.
Spenser lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Spenser. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Spenser on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Wagner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wagner scores a takedown into full mount! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spenser can do anything to dispel that myth. Wagner lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Spenser is looking to improve his position but Wagner isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wagner landing strikes from the mount and Spenser is in trouble! Wagner misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Wagner avoids the attempt from Spenser to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
