Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Bott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Methot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Bott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Methot! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Methot changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Methot misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bott.
Bott fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Bott tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Methot was well out of range. Poor timing from Bott. Good shot there by Methot. Methot looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Bott is refusing to be controlled, as Methot sits in half guard. Bott moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bott is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Bott looking to hit a scissor sweep but Methot is one step ahead there. That's one minute gone in the round. Methot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bott swivels though and keeps the full guard. Methot stops Bott from standing up. Methot connects with a couple of short punches. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bott throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Bott has his takedown stuffed and Methot counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Bott is breathing heavily. The two fighters exchange a few words. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The ref stands the fighters back up. Patrick Methot was stalling too much, according to the referee. Bott shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bott tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Methot is in Bott's guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Methot thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bott's head. Methot landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Methot controlling the pace. Methot uses his free foot to push down on Bott's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bott. That's two minutes gone in the round. Methot takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Methot cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Bott is bucking up trying to escape but Methot cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! BOOM! Methot connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Methot has control of Bott's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bott regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bott is in a horrible position here. Methot smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Bott is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Methot locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Bott is forced to tap!
