Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jak Bornak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jak Bornak! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Gracie.
Gracie swinging wildly here.
Gracie tries a head kick but it misses.
Bornak connects with a solid leg kick. Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A head kick from Bornak lands but Gracie takes it in his stride. Bornak avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gracie tries to keep at a distance but Bornak has taken the fight into the clinch. Bornak tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gracie smiles and moves away.
Bornak shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Bornak with the ground and pound but Gracie uses the opportunity to regain guard. Bornak slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie has his hands clasped together around Bornak's back. He's all about the action. Gracie is breathing heavily. Gracie wants to improve his position but Bornak is controlling well.

Gracie tries to roll over but Bornak keeps him under control. Gracie keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gracie looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bornak missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Gracie is trying to maintain the position but Bornak is very close to passing his half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bornak avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Gracie tries to bum rush Bornak with a series of wild strikes but Bornak uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Bornak slips a jab and a cross from Gracie.
Bornak clinches. Bornak is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Bornak goes for a takedown attempt but Gracie pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

A head kick by Gracie misses and Bornak moves into the clinch. Bornak's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Bornak feints and as Gracie raises his hands in defense, Bornak changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Bornak looking to pass the guard. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Bornak from controlling successfully. Gracie keeping full guard, as Bornak tries to pass. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Bornak from controlling successfully. Bornak is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jak Bornak hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A head kick by Gracie misses and Bornak counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Bornak throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Bornak is trying to control the action in half guard but Gracie is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bornak is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Bornak is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bornak is keen to just control but Gracie is a slippery customer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jak Bornak dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bornak decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Gracie looking for submissions off his back. Bornak thows a huge punch but Gracie dodges it nicely.

Bornak wants to advance to full mount but Gracie doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Bornak preventing the sweep. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bornak trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bornak has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gracie is proving hard to escape from. Gracie wants to stand but Bornak is controlling the position. Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bornak defends well. Bornak trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gracie tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bornak in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bornak is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gracie is looking for a triangle but Bornak pushes his legs off easily.

Bornak tries to stand but Gracie is controlling from the bottom. Gracie is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Bornak frees his head nicely. Oh but Gracie has switched to an armbar! Bornak is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
