Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Wall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Simon Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Heath Wall! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wall throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Jones throws a head kick that Wall semi-blocks.
Wall throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely. Wall throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily. Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Wall. A head kick by Wall misses and Jones counters with a flying knee. Nice. Jones circles away from the clinch attempt enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. Jones slips under a jab from Wall. Wall lands a right hook to the body.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Jones trying to land knees to the body.
A short body shot lands from Wall as the two fighters clinch.
Wall tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage. Wall avoiding damage as Jones throws knees to the body.

Wall is pushing Jones up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Wall.
Wall jumps guard but Jones stands there with Wall around his waist. Wall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jones struggles to land a body shot inside as Wall controls his hands.
The referee calls for Wall to work.
Wall breaks from the clinch.
Wall smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Wall misses with a leg kick and Jones counters with a slapping leg kick. Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wall tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jones moves away from the strike by Wall. Wall wants to clinch but Jones slips to the side and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Wall! Wall wants to hold on but Jones pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones trying to control but Wall is having none of it. Wall is trying to escape the mount.
Jones looking to control but Wall is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Wall is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Wall tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control. Jones looking to control and managing it successfully. Wall is squirming around, avoiding Jones's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wall is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Wall is trying desperately to improve position. Jones avoids the attempt from Wall to control. Jones controlling from the full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Wall is looking to improve his position but Jones isn't that keen on the idea. Jones controlling the position easily from mount. Jones trying to control but Wall is having none of it. Jones landing strikes from the mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Simon Jones will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Wall throws a jab when Jones was well out of range. Wall clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wall prevents a takedown attempt there.

Jones has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wall finds it's way round the side to connect with Jones's head. Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Wall. Jones's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Jones duly obliges. Jones tries to keep at a distance but Wall has taken the fight into the clinch. Jones is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wall gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Wall working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Wall slowing the pace effectively. Wall changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jones fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Wall is breathing heavily. Wall tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Wall tries to clinch up and Jones counters with a left to the body.

Heath Wall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wall tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Wall! Jones looking to control but Wall is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jones prevents Wall from getting the reversal. That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Wall tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jones wants to control the pace but Wall is squirming around nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones is really struggling to control Wall but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Wall is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Jones tries to control but Wall wriggling away. Wall tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wall is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simon Jones dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Wall stalks Jones and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones's face. Jones staggers backwards, shaken. Wall displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Wall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. A low kick from Wall is predictable there and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Jones uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wall. Wall swings away with a body shot that misses
so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wall looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Jones puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Jones trying to control from half guard but Wall is working away. Jones thows a huge punch but Wall dodges it nicely.
Wall is trying to get back to full guard. Jones controlling the action here. Jones trying to control from half guard but Wall is working away. Jones is looking to advance position but Wall won't allow it. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Wall is not content to let Jones control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Simon Jones just wasn't active enough. Jones throws a series of punches but Wall moves out of range. Jones walks into a jab. Wall misses with a looping right. Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Wall tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jones counters with a nice leg kick. Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones fails with a takedown attempt. Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard. Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Simon Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wall can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones trying to control but Wall is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Simon Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We're going to have a standup here because Simon Jones wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Wall throws a predictable looking body shot
and Jones counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Wall tries to land a body kick and Jones counters with a straight right hand. Jones avoids the body shot from Wall.

And that's the end of the fight! Simon Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
