Correia comes to the cage accompanied by Drowning in torment. Marcos Correia had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Staton.

A bone on bone clash there as Correia blocks the leg kick.
Correia fails to land the takedown.
Staton throws a looping overhand right but Correia ducks down to avoid it.
Correia keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Correia gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Correia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Staton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Correia had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Staton defends it easily.

Some bone on bone action there as Staton checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Staton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Correia was covering up waiting for the punch and Staton finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Staton cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Staton will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Staton has picked Correia up - he's going for a ride! Staton dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Staton in particular looking to stall.
Let's hope that Staton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Staton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
